Comfort FirstThe MG S6 EV adopts a more mature and premium design language compared to the S5. Up front, it features a clean, closed-off grille paired with slim LED headlights that stretch across the fascia, giving the SUV a wider and more planted visual stance. Beyond aesthetics, the front-end design also serves a functional purpose. An active grille shutter system helps optimise thermal management by regulating airflow to the battery and powertrain, while also reducing aerodynamic drag when cooling is not required. This contributes to improved overall efficiency, particularly at higher speeds. Subtle bonnet lines flow smoothly into the windscreen, adding just enough definition while maintaining a modern and uncluttered appearance.

From the side, the S6 EV looks noticeably larger with more substantial proportions. A strong shoulder line runs cleanly from the front to the rear, tying the entire design together, while the gently sloping roofline keeps the silhouette sleek. The panoramic roof visually lengthens the car, and chrome window trim adds a premium touch. The overall side profile looks understated but well balanced, prioritising elegance over sportiness.
At the rear, the design continues the clean theme with slim tail lights stretching across the width of the tailgate. The light bar gives the S6 EV a wider and more planted look, while the minimalist tailgate keeps the styling refined. Subtle sculpting around the lower bumper adds definition without clutter. The aerodynamic-style rims complete the overall design, reinforcing the S6's composed and comfort-oriented character.

Step inside the MG S6 EV and the cabin immediately feels more premium than the S5. Leather wrapping is used generously throughout, including the dashboard, door panels and centre console. The seats appear to use Nappa-style material, and even the wireless charging pad area is wrapped in soft-touch trim, creating a cohesive upscale ambience.
Carbon fibre trim adds contrast, while chrome-finished buttons provide a solid and tactile feel. The physical controls feel reassuringly well built, and the large gear knob stands out both visually and in use. The overall cabin atmosphere is composed and serene, especially at cruising speeds.

Ventilated seats are available exclusively on the MGS6 and work well, although they can be slightly loud. The new air-conditioning adjustment lever is intuitive, and the reverse-on-tilt mirrors are genuinely useful when parking. Memory seats are included. A panoramic roof enhances the sense of space, while the solid buttons across the cabin reinforce the premium direction.
The infotainment system is straightforward and easy to use without unnecessary complexity, although the speed limit warning system may be irritating for some drivers. Physical buttons remain for key controls, improving usability. The large gear knob also contributes to the straightforward layout. Not forgetting apple carplay and android auto, you can connect them wirelessly too.
One standout feature is the mobile app. Imagine being able to cool the cabin before entering the vehicle is extremely convenient, especially in hot weather, and adds meaningful everyday usability.

The larger footprint of the S6 EV translates into a noticeably more spacious rear cabin. Rear passengers benefit from improved legroom and a more relaxed seating position, making the S6 EV suitable for families or daily chauffeuring duties.

Practicality is another strong point. The rear boot offers 674 litres of space and comes with a kick-open tailgate, making loading easier when your hands are full. There is also an 86-litre frunk, which is useful for storing charging cables or smaller items. Combined, these features make the S6 EV a very usable everyday electric SUV.

The MG S6 EV produces 146 bhp and 350 Nm of torque. Acceleration is smooth rather than thrilling, and the tuning clearly prioritises comfort. When you step on the accelerator, power builds progressively so occupants are not thrown forward, making the S6 particularly pleasant for daily driving.
On the move, the S6 EV feels composed and easy to drive. Steering is light, which suits urban use, and the suspension focuses on delivering a calm and settled ride. Through corners, the car remains stable and predictable rather than sporty. Push harder and there is a slight hint of understeer, but the chassis stays controlled and confidence inspiring. Body movements are well managed, and the overall handling character leans towards comfort and stability instead of aggressive cornering.
The cabin remains quiet at speed, reinforcing the serene driving experience. This is clearly an EV designed for relaxed, effortless driving.
Range performance is one of the highlights. During testing, the S6 EV covered 322.8 km with 33% battery remaining, showing an estimated remaining range of 163 km. These figures suggest strong real-world efficiency and make the S6 EV suitable for longer daily usage without range anxiety.

The MG S6 EV focuses on comfort, space and refinement rather than outright performance. It feels like a significant step up from the S5, offering a more premium cabin, better rear space and strong practicality. The composed ride, predictable cornering behaviour and smooth acceleration make it ideal for daily driving, while the strong real-world range and useful features like remote air-conditioning enhance usability.
For buyers looking for a comfortable, spacious and premium-feeling electric SUV, the MG S6 EV delivers a well-rounded package designed for calm and effortless driving.
