AudiCar Reviews

Audi is the German premium brand from Ingolstadt, part of the Volkswagen Group, known for quattro all-wheel drive, sharp design and some of the best cabins in the business — now with a growing range of 800V-era e-tron EVs alongside its petrol and RS models.

At Cars&TechSG we've tested four on local roads: the five-cylinder RS3, the Q6 e-tron SUV, and the A6 in both electric Sportback e-tron and petrol Advanced TFSI form. Every review is honest, and aimed at buyers who want the real picture before they commit.

Frequently Asked Questions

Common questions from buyers researching Audi — answered from real driving experience.

What do e-tron, TFSI and RS mean on an Audi?
In the Audi models we've tested, e-tron marks a fully electric car (the Q6 e-tron and A6 Sportback e-tron), TFSI marks a turbocharged petrol engine (the A6 Advanced TFSI), and RS badges Audi Sport's highest-performance models (the RS3). Audi is a German brand based in Ingolstadt and part of the Volkswagen Group.
Audi A6 Sportback e-tron vs A6 Advanced TFSI — which should I choose?
Both are executive A6s with a 14.5-inch infotainment screen, an 11.9-inch digital cluster and Bang & Olufsen audio, but they drive very differently. The A6 Sportback e-tron is electric: a single rear motor with 210kW (282bhp) and 435Nm, 0–100km/h in 7.0s, an 83kWh battery with 563km of WLTP range and DC charging at up to 225kW (10–80% in 21 minutes). Its 0.23 drag coefficient helps efficiency, and it has a 502L boot plus a 27-litre frunk. The A6 Advanced TFSI is a 2.0-litre turbo petrol sedan with 150kW (204bhp), 340Nm, 8.2s to 100km/h, a 492L boot and about 14km/L in our media drive. If you can charge at home, the e-tron is quicker and more refined; the TFSI has lower road tax ($1,194 vs $2,147 a year) and no charging to plan around.
How far can the Audi Q6 e-tron go, and how fast does it charge?
The Q6 e-tron Edition 1 quattro we tested has a 100kWh battery (94.9kWh usable) with a brand-claimed 543km of range. It runs on an 800V architecture and charges at up to 270kW, going 10–80% in an estimated 21 minutes. It also packs dual motors with 285kW (382bhp) and 580Nm, a 526L boot, a 14.5-inch curved OLED touchscreen, a 10.9-inch passenger screen and a 16-speaker Bang & Olufsen system.
What makes the Audi RS3 special?
It's one of the last compact performance cars with a five-cylinder engine. The 2.5-litre turbo makes 294kW (394bhp) and 500Nm, sent through a 7-speed S tronic to all four wheels with a torque splitter, for 0–100km/h in 3.8s. Inside you get Nappa leather bucket seats, a flat-top RS steering wheel and a 15-speaker Sonos sound system. The trade-offs are a firm ride, limited rear legroom and a 282L boot. Road tax is $1,776 a year.
Which Audi has the lowest road tax?
Of the models we've tested, the A6 Advanced TFSI has the lowest road tax at $1,194 a year, followed by the RS3 at $1,776, the A6 Sportback e-tron at $2,147 and the Q6 e-tron at $3,945.
Is there a Cat A Audi?
None of the four Audis we've tested are Cat A. The RS3 and A6 Advanced TFSI have engines above 1,600cc, and the Q6 e-tron and A6 Sportback e-tron both produce well over 110kW, so all four fall under Cat B COE.
