Fun Facts First

Founded in China in 2015, Leapmotor quickly became one of the fastest-growing EV brands by focusing on smart technology and affordable electric cars. A fun fact: the company develops many of its own key EV systems in-house, which helps keep costs competitive while packing in advanced features.

Leapmotor officially arrived in Singapore in October 2025 through a partnership with Cycle & Carriage Singapore and global automotive giant Stellantis, launching with the all-electric Leapmotor C10 SUV.

Exterior Design

The first thing you notice about the Leapmotor C10 is just how premium it looks. In fact, if you did not recognise the badge, you could easily mistake it for something significantly more expensive.

At the front, the rounded LED lighting signature gives the SUV a clean futuristic appearance without trying too hard. The slim daytime running lights blend neatly into the front fascia, while the minimalist closed-off grille keeps the design modern and aerodynamic. It looks sophisticated rather than aggressive — and that suits the C10 perfectly.

Side Profile

Move to the side and the proportions work very well. The large 20-inch alloy wheels fill the arches nicely, while the flush styling cues and smooth body surfaces give the SUV a properly upscale road presence. There is also a subtle European influence to the overall silhouette.

Rear Design

Then there is the rear. And yes, you are probably thinking the same thing — there is definitely a hint of Porsche-inspired styling here. The slim full-width taillight design combined with the broad rear shoulders gives the C10 a clean and expensive-looking rear end, especially at night when the lighting language comes alive.

Interior Review

Step inside the Leapmotor C10 and you immediately realise this SUV was designed around comfort and space.

The minimalist dashboard layout is dominated by a massive 14.6-inch central infotainment screen alongside a crisp 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster. The cabin itself feels airy and uncluttered, helped further by the panoramic glass roof complete with a sunshade — something absolutely essential in hot weather.

Material quality is also genuinely impressive for the price point. The OEKO-Tex® Standard 100 silicone seat fabric feels soft, premium and even baby-safe, making it especially appealing for families. Unlike some rivals that try too hard to feel futuristic, the C10's interior simply feels relaxing.

Leapmotor has also nailed the little practical touches. There are 26 storage compartments throughout the cabin, four cupholders, large bottle holders in every door pocket and plenty of usable centre console storage.

Ambient lighting adds another premium touch at night, while the 12-speaker sound system delivers surprisingly solid audio performance for daily commuting.

Infotainment System and Digital Features

The tech experience inside the Leapmotor C10 feels modern visually, but there are still some frustrating usability quirks.

The biggest issue? No Android Auto or Apple CarPlay during the media drive. Leapmotor says both features will arrive in a future update, but their absence right now feels noticeable considering how dependent most drivers are on smartphone integration.

The infotainment system itself is responsive and sharp, although certain functions are overly complicated. Adjusting air-conditioning airflow through the touchscreen sounds futuristic in theory, but in reality, physical controls would simply be easier and safer while driving.

The NFC key card system is another feature that feels clever initially but becomes annoying quickly. You can tap the card to unlock the car, but oddly only from the driver's side. Worse still, you need to place the card onto the reader again just to start the vehicle. After a few entries, it starts feeling unnecessarily cumbersome compared to a normal smart key setup.

Comfortable Cabin With Premium Touches

And space? There is loads of it.

One surprising highlight is the front seats, which adopt a unique "bench layout" design that contributes to the airy cabin feel. Even more impressive are the ventilated and massage seat functions, features rarely found in compact electric hatchbacks.

The front seats are properly comfortable too, with enough cushioning for long drives. Interestingly, they can also recline fully up to 180 degrees, effectively turning the cabin into a lounge-like resting area while charging or parked.

Material quality throughout the cabin feels pleasant and soft-touch in most areas, giving the Firefly a more premium ambience than expected at this size and price point.

Rear Passenger Space and Cabin Practicality

Thanks to the massive 2825mm wheelbase, rear passengers get excellent legroom and generous headroom. Adults can comfortably sit in the back without feeling cramped, and the flat floor design improves overall cabin practicality.

Boot Space and Practicality

The 435-litre boot provides enough room for groceries, luggage or a weekend getaway. Loading items is also fairly easy thanks to the reasonably accessible boot opening.

There is also a handy 32-litre frunk upfront, perfect for storing charging cables or smaller items separately.

Driving Experience

The Leapmotor C10 is powered by a 69.9kWh battery offering a claimed WLTP range of up to 419km, although our short 2D1N media drive meant real-world efficiency could not be fully tested. DC fast charging peaks at 84kW, allowing a 30% to 80% top-up in around 30 minutes, though some rivals now charge quicker.

On the road, the rear-wheel-drive C10 prioritises comfort over outright performance, producing 134bhp (100kW) and 320Nm of torque. Acceleration feels smooth and effortless, while the light steering makes city driving and parking incredibly easy. Ride comfort is generally impressive with only slight body roll during corners and occasional firmness over rougher surfaces.

Refinement is where the Leapmotor C10 stands out most. Extensive NVH improvements and ultra-quiet motor tuning create a calm cabin with minimal wind and road noise, although a faint battery hum can sometimes be heard without music playing.

That said, the driver assistance systems still need refinement. The lane assist can feel overly intrusive, while the adaptive cruise control occasionally reacts too aggressively in traffic, slightly disrupting the otherwise relaxing driving experience.

Verdict: Who Is the Leapmotor C10 For?

The Leapmotor C10 is not trying to be the fastest electric SUV. It is not trying to be sporty either.

Instead, it focuses on what many buyers actually care about — comfort, space, refinement and value.

For families, first-time EV buyers or anyone wanting a premium-feeling electric SUV without entering luxury-brand pricing territory, the C10 makes a surprisingly convincing case. The spacious rear cabin, refined ride quality, practical storage solutions and premium design all help the SUV punch above its weight.

Yes, there are still software quirks to iron out. Android Auto and Apple CarPlay should have been available from launch, while certain touchscreen-heavy controls feel unnecessarily complicated.

But as an overall package, the Leapmotor C10 feels like a genuinely serious contender in the growing electric SUV market — and perhaps more importantly, proof that Leapmotor is a brand worth paying attention to moving forward.
