When you think of premium MPVs, names like the Toyota Alphard and Vellfire probably come to mind. But the Zeekr 009 enters the Singapore market with a completely different approach—bold, futuristic, and unapologetically luxurious.

When I stepped into the cabin of the Zeekr 009, and it becomes clear to me this is no ordinary MPV. Designed with a "tech-luxury" mindset, the interior feels more like a private jet suite than a family vehicle. Every inch is thoughtfully crafted to elevate passenger comfort while offering class-leading innovation.

I could put my seat to a rest mode easily with the easily accessible controls beside each second row passenger seat.
For those who travel for work or enjoy the occasional in-car meal, there's also a foldable tray table neatly tucked into the seat console. It slides out effortlessly and feels sturdy enough for a laptop, tablet, or food tray—turning the 009 into a mobile workspace or dining area.
Entertainment Done Right
Rear passengers enjoy their own 17-inch OLED smart entertainment screen, mounted centrally between the front seats. Unlike many MPVs that rely on mirrored smartphone screens, the Zeekr 009's infotainment system supports native apps like YouTube, TikTok, and more. Kids can binge their shows, and adults can catch up on news or stream music or even make calls—all without needing external devices.
And then there's the sound system—an immersive 30-speaker Yamaha Surround Sound setup, tuned specifically for the 009's cabin. What makes it special are the headrest-integrated speakers in the second-row seats. They deliver focused audio directly to your ears without disturbing others, perfect for personal listening, video calls, or just zoning out during the ride. Overall, when my passengers played Youtube videos, the sound experience was really immersive. Thumbs up for that!
Fridge, Massage, and More
Need to keep drinks cold during your trip to JB or on the school run? The built-in centre console fridge is spacious enough to store small bottles and snacks, and it cools quickly. Paired with the full-body massage functionality and ultra-quiet cabin insulation, it completes the experience of a personal lounge on wheels.
And yes—the comfort extends to the third row, which doesn't feel like an afterthought. With generous legroom and USB-C ports for each seat, even rear-most passengers won't feel shortchanged.
Drive Performance:
Of course, for such a vehicle, passenger's view is of top priority. However, without the driver to operate the car and fetch you to your destination, how can you enjoy the ride? In the driver's seat, you're greeted by an ultra-wide AR HUD, projecting everything from navigation prompts to lane assist information directly onto the windscreen. It reduces the need to glance down and keeps your attention on the road. The infotainment experience is just as polished, with smooth app transitions and fast boot-up times.
Advanced driver-assist features like adaptive cruise control, lane keeping, emergency braking, blind spot monitoring, and a 360-degree camera system all come as standard. Parking something this size would usually be a challenge, but the intuitive 3D surround view camera takes much of that stress away.
Despite its size and silhouette, the Zeekr 009 handles Singapore roads with remarkable finesse. A dual-chamber air suspension system works in tandem with adaptive dampers to constantly smooth out bumps and road imperfections. Even when I pushed it to higher speeds—up to 150 km/h in our tests—the ride remained calm and composed, with minimal wind or road noise intruding into the cabin. Body control through corners was solid, without the floaty or lurching feel you might expect from a tall MPV.
Range anxiety? Not here. The 116 kWh battery provides up to 582 km of WLPT range. With support for DC fast charging, a 10% to 80% top-up can be done in just half an hour—making long-distance drives to Malaysia comfortably achievable with one charging stop or less.

After spending some time behind the wheel of the Zeekr 009, I can honestly say both my partner and I were really impressed. The driving experience felt genuinely luxurious—from the spacious, refined interior to the smooth, responsive performance. It's packed with advanced tech, but it's the way everything comes together that really makes a difference. Comfort and style don't just coexist here—they enhance each other. One feature that really stood out to me? The incredibly plush, multifunctional seats. They added an extra layer of relaxation to every trip.
